Resize an image to exact pixel dimensions
Enter a width or height in pixels and the tool computes the other side automatically when aspect lock is on, so photos never stretch or squash. Turn the lock off for exact non-proportional dimensions — useful for banners and fixed-size form fields. Output supports up to 8192px on either side, and every resize happens locally on your device using the browser's canvas engine, so the original file never leaves your computer or phone.
Resize image for Instagram, YouTube and other platforms
The Social presets tab carries verified sizes for Instagram posts, Stories and Reels (1080×1920), YouTube thumbnails (1280×720) and channel banners, Facebook covers, X headers, LinkedIn covers, WhatsApp DPs, Pinterest pins and Open Graph images. Preset mode uses smart cover-cropping: your image fills the target frame edge-to-edge with the center preserved, instead of getting distorted or letterboxed — the same behavior the platforms themselves apply.
Resize by percentage and convert format in one step
Percentage mode scales an image to anywhere between 1% and 200% of its original dimensions — the fastest way to halve a photo for email or a document. You can also switch the output format to JPG, PNG or WebP during the resize, combining two jobs into one pass. Batch mode processes multiple images with identical settings; batches over 3 files and one-click ZIP export are Pro features.
Frequently asked questions
Does resizing reduce image quality?
Downscaling (making images smaller) keeps images sharp because pixels are merged, not invented. Upscaling beyond the original size can soften details since new pixels must be interpolated. For best results, resize down from the largest original you have.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. The entire resize runs in your browser using the canvas engine on your own device. Files are never transmitted, stored, or seen by us — you can even use the tool offline once the page has loaded.
What is the maximum image size supported?
Inputs are processed up to a 4096×4096 working area (very large photos are safely downscaled first to respect mobile browser memory limits), and you can output any size up to 8192px per side.
Which preset should I use for Instagram?
Use 1080×1080 for square posts, 1080×1350 for portrait posts (takes the most feed space), and 1080×1920 for Stories and Reels. The preset menu includes all three with verified dimensions.
Can I resize multiple images at once?
Yes — drop up to 3 images free with the same settings applied to all. Batches up to 20 files plus ZIP download of all results are available with Pro.
