How to mirror an image horizontally
Upload your photo, tap Flip H, and the live preview shows the mirrored result instantly. Horizontal flipping swaps left and right — the most common fix for front-camera selfies, which phones mirror by default. Tap Flip V instead to mirror top-to-bottom, or combine both for a 180° rotation effect. Download keeps your original format and full resolution.
Flip a selfie back to normal
Front cameras show you a mirrored preview because that's how mirrors work, but the saved photo is often un-mirrored — making text on shirts readable but faces look 'wrong' to you. A single horizontal flip restores the view you're used to seeing. Since flipping only swaps pixel positions, there is zero quality loss on PNG and no visible loss on high-quality JPG export.
When to flip vertically
Vertical flips mirror an image top-to-bottom — useful for creating water-reflection effects, fixing scans fed upside-down and backwards, and preparing iron-on transfer prints, which must be mirrored before printing. Everything runs client-side in your browser; no file is ever uploaded, so it's safe for private photos and documents.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between flipping and rotating?
Rotating turns the image around its center in 90° steps. Flipping mirrors it across an axis — horizontal swaps left/right, vertical swaps top/bottom. A flip cannot be reproduced by rotation alone.
Why does my selfie look different when flipped?
You're used to seeing yourself in mirrors, which are horizontally flipped. The camera's saved photo is the un-mirrored 'real' view. Flipping horizontally restores the mirror view you recognize.
Is the flipped image uploaded anywhere?
No. The flip is computed in your browser with the Canvas API. Your photo never leaves your device.
Will flipping reduce image quality?
No. Flipping repositions pixels without resampling. PNG exports are pixel-perfect lossless; JPG exports use high 92% quality.
